Hello all,I've been experimenting withubase for a bit, but am interested in transitioning to ahiefly hardware based setup, and usingubase for rording, final editing, and mixing. In the past I've just been monitoring on headphones (to my shame), but am looking to buy a dent set of monitors. Please pardon my rank ignorae here, but would I need a hardware mixer in order to properlyonnt the monitors? As well, I'd be very grateful if someoneould explain extly the purpose of hardware mixers (apart from EQ, and setting appropriate volume). My intention is to puhase a drum mhine and a synth or two, and would like to know just what benefits and futions a dent hardware mixer would provide. For instae, generally how manyhannels would one need with two or three bits of gear ? Would a mkie 1402 suffe for my needs? Do most folk perform their preliminary mixing and EQ work with outboard mixers, then refine it further in their DAW? Lastly, in order toonnt a prosptive synthbeatbox up to my laptop for editingmixingrordingsequeing, what kit would I need? I assume a MIDI interfe of some sort, but wouldn't know where to begin finding a suitable option. What featuressps should I look for in one of these? Should I beoerned withompatibility? (I'm using a Dell running Vista). Many thanks in advae to whomeveran help me out here. I apologise for the horribly rudimentary questions whh you've no doubt heard a thousand times before.
